This page explains what personal data SpanishMatchdays.co.uk collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it specific rather than generic — everything below describes what this Site actually does.

The short version: we do not sell anything, run accounts or a newsletter, or build advertising profiles. The only personal data most visitors ever give us is an anonymous analytics record, and only if you agree to it.

1. Who We Are

This Site is owned and operated by eCanary Ltd, a company registered in England under company number 12974602, with its registered office at 9a Wick Road Business Park, Wick Road, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, CM0 8FA.

eCanary Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. That means we decide why and how it is processed, and we are responsible for it under UK data protection law.

For anything relating to privacy or your data, contact us through our Contact page.

2. What We Do Not Collect

It is worth being clear about this first, because it rules out most of what privacy policies usually cover.

We do not:

If you never contact us and you decline analytics cookies, we hold no personal data about you beyond the short-lived server logs described below.

3. What We Collect, and Why

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical information every time a page is requested: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles people read and how they reach us. This only runs if you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, we collect no analytics data.

When it does run, it records a randomly generated device identifier, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, approximate location (country or region, derived from a truncated IP address), and your device, browser and referring source.

We do not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or cross-device tracking on this property.

Contact form and email

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to put in your message.

Please do not send us sensitive information. In particular, if you are contacting us about a gambling harm concern, you do not need to give us any detail about your own gambling — and we would rather you contacted GamCare on 0808 8020 133, who are trained for it and confidential.

Embedded content from other websites

Some articles embed posts from X (formerly Twitter) and, occasionally, videos from YouTube. These load directly from those companies’ servers, which means they can see your IP address and may set their own cookies — exactly as if you had visited x.com or youtube.com yourself.

These embeds only load if you accept “embedded content” cookies. If you decline, we show a placeholder with a link instead.

X and Google act as independent controllers for anything they collect this way, under their own privacy policies. We have no access to it.

Affiliate links

When you click a link to a bookmaker or casino — including our /offer/ links — you leave this Site. The operator’s own privacy policy applies from that point, and they will usually attach a tracking code so they know the referral came from us.

We receive aggregate referral reporting from operators: how many people clicked, how many signed up. We do not receive your name, your account details, what you bet, or what you lost, and we do not try to match referral data back to individual visitors.

4. Who We Share Data With

We share data only with the suppliers that make the Site work:

Who What they do Where
Hostinger Website hosting and server logs EU / EEA
Google (Analytics) Analytics processing, if you consent US, under UK-approved transfer safeguards
X Corp. Serving embedded posts, if you consent US, under UK-approved transfer safeguards
Google (YouTube) Serving embedded videos, if you consent US, under UK-approved transfer safeguards

We will also disclose data where we are legally required to — for example, in response to a valid request from a regulator or a court order.

We do not share data with gambling operators, advertising networks, or data brokers.

5. International Transfers

Google and X are US-based. Where personal data reaches them, it is transferred under the safeguards UK data protection law requires — the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

6. How Long We Keep Things

Data Kept for
Server logs Short rolling period set by our host
Analytics records 14 months
Contact correspondence Up to 24 months
Records of a complaint or legal matter As long as needed for that matter, then deleted

7. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email us. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

Realistically, for most visitors, the answer to an access request will be that we hold nothing identifiable — but ask, and we will check properly and tell you either way.

Withdrawing analytics consent does not require an email: use the cookie settings floating icon on the bottom-left side of the screen to change your choice at any time.

8. Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first — we would rather fix it.

You also have the right to complain directly to the UK regulator:

9. Children

This Site carries gambling-related content and is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. We do not direct content at under-18s, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us, and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will make that clear on the Site rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
